That's kinda the point, though. His two friends weren't really close enough to him to consider going against the herd just for his sake. None of the students, besides Aeka obviously, were willing to stand up to Kyoka, who was basically Queen of the Classroom, just for Kouhei's sake. That's part of the plot. Kouhei was never really close to anybody. Over the course of the game, though, he becomes close to one of the three girls, and to his family again.

I got the You bad end. It made me a bit sad so I haven't gone back to it since then mostly because of the time it takes to play it a second time, didn't backup my saves..

First time I played it I got the You good end. Then I was too lazy to play other routes, not realizing that I was missing out on 99% of the story.

This VN's most noteworthy feature is the surprisingly complex story, and how you will sit through Coco's route absolutely dumbfounded.

Don't make the same mistake as me and only go through one route. You have no idea what you'll be missing out on if you do.

tl;dr FINISH THE WHOLE GAME DAMNIT.

So I finished Cross Channel+Tower of Friends add on. And it's about time, it only took me seven months to complete.

I think I'll read Fate/Stay Night's Unlimited Blade Works route next.

I tried reading Fate/Stay Night, but it just seemed like a really shitty modern fantasy novel with sex scenes.

Then I tried Heart De Roommate, and realized I'm not in the mood for such insanity.

I think I'll try Family Project, next.

You should give it more of a chance, because it really is more than that. The first route is pretty lame, but that's intentional. It might be spoiling a bit to say this, but Fate/stay night is something of a deconstruction of the shounen/fantasy genre. The first route is setting up the background for the other two routes.

I was completely enthralled by Lilly playing this game, mind you. Blonde, blue-eyed, well-mannered and a charming, warm attitude, what is there to dislike?

The depth of this game surprised me, too. Even though it, as usual, portrays people as extraordinarily more interesting than they actually would be in reality, it does raise good questions about the ways we perceive disabled people. The phrase "Maybe it(the disability) is only a problem if you perceive it as one", or something of the sort, that the librarian once says, at least in one of the arcs, was certainly food for thought.

1. Hanako. Shrinking Violets make me go all gooey in-side.
2. Rin. She'd be tied with Hanako if it wasn't for the fact that I know all of her scenes are going to be foot fetish... Ehhg.
3. Shizune. I'm waiting to see if she's a tsundere, or just a bitch. Grade A Zettai Ryouiki definitely helps, though.
4. Emi. Genki girls aren't exactly my favorite. Tolerable.
5. Lilly. I. Can not. Stand. Yamato Nadeshiko. I'm sorry, I just can't.

1 lilly: absolute best no doubts about it. no flaws, just pure perfection.
2 emi: what's not to like about the local loli?
3 shizune: probably just a bitch. misha is the best part of her route.
4 rin: she's just crazy-weird. nothing special or unique there.
5 hanako: I just really hate those wussy spineless sacks of boring. moe my ass, she's just pathetic. her fidgety and nervous nature is closer to annoying than anything else. I can imagine she'd be popular with guys who go like "omg, even I could score with a girl like that!" though.
