“It has been a week since the “Souseiseki” model Rozen Maiden, courtesy of my brother, arrived.” Alice lazily wrote into her observation log. “This doll is very much like a sentient being; it has likes, dislikes, preferences, own ideas as to existence and why…”
She took a moment to gaze outside the study window, taking notice of something that had appeared but days before: A plowed up patch of land where grass once stood. Arranged in neat rows were several sticks, upon which written notes indicated what was being grown: peas, carrots, grapes, strawberries, tomatoes. Tending to them was Souseiseki, rimmed top hat shading her eyes from the harsh midday sun. Watering can in hand, she was the sole caretaker of these plants, tending them, ridding the weeds, scaring away the birds. Indeed, she missed no small detail, no tiny patch of soil too insignificant to escape her notice.
“The doll enjoys the act of gardening, tending to plants and the like.” Alice continued to write down, recalling what had happened after that event on that fateful day…
“M-master…” Souseiseki cried somewhat as she followed her master out the door, hastily still tying her corset on.
“If you require more time to get dressed, I will grant it.” Alice impatiently retorted, stopping before the final portal to the outside world.
