Lately since every faggot and his monkey wants a new board I've been thinking we need a better way to gauge interest then just 20 posts of "THIS IS AWESOME" or "SHIT SUCKS" (case in point: LBM mod thread). Enter /sandbox/, if I think a board idea is worth a test run this is where it will go down. Rules of /sandbox/: Board title = topic, no off-topic shit (this pretty much for any board on desuchan) /sandbox/ is a lone ranger she doesn't like to share the spotlight and so only one trail will be run at any given time (so ideas better be good, else your stuck with what you get) Trails have no time limit. I might think the idea is awesome after 3 days or 3 months, at that time it will be made a permanent board. On the flip side if after 3days/months I think it sucks it will be deleted (sorry no backups or crying) and the next trial will be started. Which brings us to the next point. Nothing is permanent. If it's in /sandbox/ it might be deleted in the next minute/hour/day/week/etc. You can either fight to have it made permanent or watch it burn. Well, the problem with making a desu template is that trying to use the correct red and green, with proper saturation and brightness, is going to make your eyes bleed, or at least trigger epileptic seizures a la >>1467 . Whether that's better than puking or not is left as an exercise to the reader.Personally, I like the colour combo; it's calm, restful, and easy on the eyes. If the Top thread post was confined in a box like the replies are then you could make the body background anything. Unfortunately the top thread post isn't grouped correctly so I've never been able to modify it in greasemonkey. Kusaba is more editable than wakaba on the viewers end.

Seconding this. There are a few boards with way too many pages, but as far as I know, storage isn't one of Desuchan's problems. Either way, it'd look tidier if most or all boards were limited to 10 pages or somewhere around there.

You have to remember that boards like these are also sources of information. The more posts you keep (regardless of age), the more information you have for people to sift through. Or else you are going to just have a new thread on the same shit.

I really was just hoping to come up with something simple that would alleviate the work mods have to do just to keep /loli/ clean of the real cp posted by bots. My hat is off to them for kindly keeping the board around. It's the very reason I came to desuchan and also why I come by and end up checking other boards while I'm here. Thanks guys.

I recently (some minutes ago) added content to the thread http://www.desuchan.net/loli/res/1193.html. However, it didn't get bumped to the first page. Is there a reason for this? Too many images, perhaps?
Yeah, it doesn't happen often, but if a thread becomes large enough here it can stop bumping. Pretty large limit though, and barring dickery the thread won't be deleted.
