I dunno. I remember a couple pages had been translated and someone posted them, and some other person said they had a translator person, but they hadn't gotten back to us yet...

Who knows, but now that I'm caught up on the Rozen Maiden manga, I wants it nao. ; ; I'd do it myself, but I suck and Rozen Maiden is seinen... damn you, moonspeak!

Actually, I've seen Japanese people type it(みんなさん, that is) both ways, but whether it's actually correct or just a typo, I don't know.

But, um, my translations suck. Even more so now because rikaichan(which had a better dictionary than my paper one) is defunct after I upgraded to Firefox 3. sighs I wish I had money to pay someone better to do the translation... picture related.

Someone pointed this out to me...

"Why do you put Shimada on your doorplate?" Does this look strange to anyone else? Wouldn't it be "Why did you put"? Since it has to be in the past tense, as he's not doing the action now. (Unless he has some electronic doorplate that he has to input every time, or if he has multiple doorplates, but then doorplate would need to be plural)

  1. "Shimada" is the name of the former resident.
  2. Jun left the doorplate unchanged because he didn't want his name public.
  3. That's why the doorplate says Shimada, not Sakurada. And that's why the 14-year-old Jun disappointedly called his future self "小さい" (small-minded/petty/puny/not ambitious).

For original Jun, a more formal-looking text might be good (like what Linkiboy used, example of the two fonts shown in the image).
But then, I don't know. I'm no graphics expert.

Just put something non-committal like "Aren't you hard at work?"

Leave the note, but change it to fit the fact that it's not a direct translation.

>> No.164   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>154
In this case, お疲れ様です is equivalent to hello. It is no more than a salutation at meeting.

>> No.185   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>164

お疲れ様です is what you would say to someone who is doing something such as work. 疲れて is to be tired or exhausted, it's like saying "good work", even though a literal translation would be "that's tiring". It's similar to ご苦労様です but without the same inference of a burden to someone.

By the way "おつ" or even "02" is only really used on the internets. It's not a bonafide "abbreviated form". It's up the same alley as "ur" for "you're".

As you can see, at present, in practice, it is just a greeting.

>By the way "おつ" or even "02" is only really used on the internets.

"おっつー" is in common use. It's very informal, though.

>It's not a bonafide "abbreviated form". It's up the same alley as "ur" for "you're".
