Would it be worth it to get one of these real inexpensive dolls from OBITSU and customize it?

yes

Have you done it? Is it difficult?

i haven't done yet, i blew my dough on a dollmore torrie instead, but i've seen other people on the board who did a good job with their obitsu's and if i was going to start customising that's what i'd start with for sure

That's what I was hoping to hear. Thank you.

The ones with ball joints. Not all of them are ball jointed.

If by that you mean some of the softbusts, it depends. Softbusts can pick up stains like a bitch as well.
>>69
Not particularly. The hardest thing is the face up, and if all else fails you can just commission that like I did with my guy.

Was that done by a local artist or an artist you dealt with online?

If it's the lattercan you provide contact details?

My guy's face up was done by GooglyDoogly on Junkyspot.com's forums. The girl was done by myself and obviously is nowhere near as good. I'd say join Junkspot's forum, search for Googly, and ask him if he'd be willing to do a commission.

Have in mind that, after costumization, everything gets more expensive. There are a bunch o great obitsu dolls out there and just because the body is cheaper that Dollfie and otherr doesn't mean they won't become master-pieces.

Angel of Dream are quite cheap the bodies go for around $230 (1/3 and made of resin).

Shit, even VOLKS is cheaper than that..

Are we talking about the same thing? Volks DD are almost the same price of AOD but are made of vinyl.
